February 11, 2023 Post-Event Highlights
On February 11, 2023 the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) hosted its first in-person event for CDC Project Firstline in Los Angeles, California. We welcomed a range of healthcare workers, from nurses to environmental services technicians to community healthcare workers. Over two sessions, our roundtable discussions highlighted several challenges faced by the AA and NH/PI communities, including language barriers, lack of access to healthcare services, fear and mistrust of healthcare systems, and cultural competency issues that may increase the risk of infection. Below is a summary of the key topics and discussion points from those sessions.
